Greyhounds as Pets

Not sure if a greyhound would suit your lifestyle?

lucy.jpgA greyhound's racing life is a short one - most are retired by the time they are just 3 or 4 years old, some at an even younger age due to injury - which is why so many of this remarkable breed need our help.

Contrary to popular belief, they don't need vast amounts of exercise:  they are sprinters, not marathon runners, perfectly happy with a couple of 20 minute walks a day - though these gentle and affectionate animals will happily trot alongside you for as long as you ask them to do so.

Take a look at our Rogues' Gallery to see some of our greyhounds in their new homes (yes, they do lie around and sleep a lot).

Some of them even email us!   Read about Fidget's First Fortnight in his new home, or share Soldier's experiences during his first month with his new owners.
